Day 4 - Roskilde Cathedral, Viking Ship Museum and Trelleborg
Explore Roskilde and surrounds. We recommend visiting the Roskilde Cathedral, a landmark, where the notorious Viking king Harald Bluetooth was buried. Visit the Viking Ship Musuem where you can row a viking ship, dine like a Viking in the museum cafe and tast the local flatbread.
Next up is a visit to Trelleborg, the best-fortified fortress among the ring fortresses from Viking-Age Denmark and one that shows clear evidence of attack. Trelleborg was built in 980, during the reign of King Harald Bluetooth. The fortress was excavated 1934-42 and revealed 31 houses and thousands of artefacts as well as the remains of the large, circular-shaped fortress.
