The Northernmost tramride in the world

Experience Trondheim in the vintage carriage of the northernmost tram in the world! Enjoy a spectacular view of the city’s colourful houses, before we take you to new highs at the ski jumping hill of Granåsen. The excursion ends in the city centre of Trondheim with a photo stop at the marvelous Nidaros Cathedral.

A short bus ride brings you to the tram stop in the city centre. From there, you travel in a vintage carriage on the northernmost tram in the world, passing colourful houses and the remnants of the city wall of Trondheim. The Gråkallbanen line has operated since 1924 on 8.8km narrow gauge tracks from the city centre to the suburbs of Trondheim.

You will enjoy a spectacular view of Trondheim in a carriage from the 1950s, before you arrive at lake Lian, the final destination of the tram line. From here the bus takes you to the ski-jump area of Granåsen, built for the World Championship in 1997. You will have time to marvel at the big jumps that are used both in summer and winter times for practice and competitions.

Afterwards the bus will take you back to the ship via a short drive through the centre of Trondheim and a photo stop at the Nidaros Cathedral – Norway’s national shrine. It has a history of over 1000 years and is the pilgrimage goal of the north due to its position on the grave of Saint Olav. The astonishing west front and the stained-glass window will certainly take your breath away.
