Arctic Voyage Spitsbergen Clean up

Volunteer your time to help clean up the Arctic on your Spitsbergen voyage.

Garbage from the oceans is piling up on shores all over the world. In Spitsbergen this litter is often hazardous for reindeer, who get entangled in fish nets and die of starvation. Also shore birds, foxes and bears suffer from it. Supported by AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators) and with the contribution of the Governor of Spitsbergen, you will have a chance to clean the shores in North Spitsbergen and Nordaustlandet. Alongside your regular sightseeing, passengers will work together in smaller groups to help the environment. It will be an adventurous experience as often we will not be able to clean a certain area, because of roaming bears.

Departing on the 28th August 2015, this eight day Polar Bear Voyage departs from Longyearbyen. On this special working voyage, there is a 20% discount.

If you have a zeal for nature conservation and want to give back to the environment as you travel, this is the journey for you.
